Inductive Reasoning: Qumran as the mirror of Jerusalem

Revelation 11:08 reveals the correct place of the Crucifixion to be at Qumran instead of Jerusalem:
"and their dead bodies are upon the broad-place of the great city (that is called spiritually Sodom, and Egypt, where also our Lord was crucified,)"

Let us dissect this sentence:


Apparently, the New Testament writers needed to have a way to distinguish Qumran, which was built as the spiritual Jerusalem after the Essenes had been rejected by Herod in his plans for the temple of Jerusalem. This has presented a strange use of Jerusalem in both the singular and plural in the Gospels, which has baffled scholars. Explanations for this are that, since Jerusalem was a Hebrew word translated to Greek, it might have two forms. Another explanation could be that it is the result of writings compiled from different sources. None of these theories seem quite adequate. However, the theory that each is intended to describe a different place is a much better fit.

Here we are testing the consistency of the use of Jerusalem as representing two separate places: Jerusalem and Qumran.

If we suppose that Jesus' life was primarily in the barren desert community on the Dead Sea known as Qumran, it would explain the reason why there is no history of Jesus besides the Gospels.

Given that there were two places called Jerusalem, then it would be easy to transpose Qumran, being the true place of Jesus' ministry, crucifixion, and resurrection, into Jerusalem. Thus the greatest religious city of the world would become the place where Christianity began.

Of these there is just one exception Matthew 2:3 where the word form Jerusalem would normally be plural neuter (Qumran) except in this case its adjective 'all' is singular feminine and this implies that Jerusalem is also singular feminine (Jerusalem) even though it looks like the plural neuter (Qumran) in Matthew 2:1.


There is another noun meaning inhabitant of Jerusalem which is plural masculine:

On first glance it is interesting to see that John contains no Singular forms: for Jerusalem

but the Plural forms:




which is essentially saying that all events in the Book of John were located in Jerusalem (Qumran). This lends credibility to the supposition that the Gospel of John was written first, but added last after revision. It then would make sense that the other three Gospels decided that they needed a real Jerusalem and just conveniently made it singular.

The situation of Mark, Luke, Matthew, and Acts having two distinct forms for Jerusalem and from their distribution, with the plural form meaning Qumran being predominant, leads to the logical conclusion that two Jerusalems were intended. It cannot just be written off as artistic expression or carelessness.

In Revelation there is only the masculine form since it is talking about the "New Jerusalem".


Matthew 2 Nativity
Now when Jesus was born in Bethlehem of Judea in the days of Herod the king, behold, wise men from the East came to Jerusalem, saying,

Comment: Plural - Jesus is born in a place south of Qumran, the mirror double of Jerusalem, not in the Bethlehem of today where the Church of the Nativity is located. (Note that every occurrence of Jerusalem plural except two representing "people of" is neuter.)

Comment: Singular - (This form of Jerusalem would normally be plural neuter except in this case its adjective 'all' is single feminine) Herod is correctly in the real Jerusalem. Matthew is clearly giving a hint that there are two Jerusalems by using that same word but using the first one as neuter plural and this one as feminine singular because of its adjective 'all' (pas) which is singular feminine.

Comment: Plural - Since Jesus' parents were in Ain Feshkha (the substitute for Nazareth) and since it is 3 kilometers south of Qumran, they did not have far to get to the Queen's house (Bethlehem) which was just 2 miles north, being 1 km south of Qumran. This building apparently had been assigned to Joseph for the pupose of taxes to Rome. Purification was at Qumran.
Now there was a man in Jerusalem, whose name was Simeon, and this man was righteous and devout, looking for the consolation of Israel, and the Holy Spirit was upon him.

Comment: Singular 25 & 38 - Simeon was one of the Essenes (angels) who had abandoned Qumran after the earthquake and lived in Jerusalem. It is important to note that it only says that Simeon was in Jerusalem, not as it might be implied that Joseph and Mary went to Jerusalem to see him.
Comment: Singular 41 & 43 & 45 - Likewise, Anna of the order of Asher was connected with Jerusalem. Using this lucky coincidence that both had traveled to Qumran, Luke carefully crafted this illusion of Joseph and Mary being in Jerusalem rather than Qumran and the Queen's house to associate Jesus more closely with Jerusalem and Bethlehem to increase Jesus' importance and to be close to a place that people could recognize.

Luke 2 Parents go up to Jerusalem, Jesus stays behind at the temple.
Now his parents went to Jerusalem every year at the feast of the Passover.

Comment: Singular 41 & 43 & 45 - Here it is clear that the reader is being told that it Jesus' twelfth birthday around the time as Passover, thus in March. They traveled to Jerusalem as they also did every year. Jesus stayed on there and parents went back for him. (Jesus was expressing his wish not to follow his father, but to enter into the monastery.)

And this is the testimony of John, when the Jews sent priests and Levites from Jerusalem to ask him, "Who are you?"
